Ken Smith

Director, Financial Systems and Data Management Practice – Dallas, Texas

Ken is the Director of the Financial Systems and Data Management Practice for the Lavinski Division of Lavinski-Hayes International. With a broad background in financial accounting systems and data management, Ken is a results-driven individual with over eighteen years of experience in project management, financial accounting, database design, and numerous financial systems within diverse industries. He is able to take broad concepts and requirements and create practical solutions that meet the overall business objectives. Combining both his background in data management and financial accounting, Ken can take large, complex data sets, extract meaningful information, and provide vital analysis from which management can make critical decisions. Using his effective problem solving skills, technical abilities, and analytical skills, he is able to help his clients adapt to the needs of a changing business environment.

Prior to joining Lavinski-Hayes, Ken was Director of Accounting for MetroPCS Communications, Inc., a wireless telecom provider with $3 billion in annual revenues. While in this role, Ken was critical to the successful implementation of several major financial systems, including a full conversion of the general ledger, fixed asset, and purchasing systems. Prior to joining MetroPCS, Ken spent several years as a consultant, both independently and as a Senior Consultant with Horn Murdock Cole. During this time Ken provided consulting services for a diverse group of industries including, telecom, railroad services, food and beverage, restaurant and retail services to name a few. As a consultant Ken hasdeveloped and implemented multiple automated solutions addressing sales, budgeting/planning, forecasting and process improvement. He is comfortable doing whatever is needed to deliver world class results whether that means working in the server room with IT or the board room with executive management. Ken believes that a company should be diligent in assessing and evaluating their current technology to determine if they are using it to its fullest potential before investing in additional hardware and software.

Ken holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from East Central University in Oklahoma, and a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in finance from Dallas Baptist University.
